i used to use those. if your going to pick up a home box, dont use the cheap ones! use like l'oreal, NOT color pulse or any brand like that. they color is totally off. butttt ... ifyou are going to dye your hair blonde and you are a brown right now, i would HIGHLY suggest going to a proffessional. beleive me, you'll thank me when your color is natural looking. its worth the money to go risk free.

going blonde is always harder then going darker it might turn your hair orange i wud do it in steps like go for a very light brown/ dark dark blonde then go for a lighter shade of blonde dont go form brown to platnum it will trun orange

You could possibly turn orange, but it isn't likely unless you have color on your hair.

It's really best to have a professional bleach you to blonde...doing it yourself has the potential to damage your hair...even a professional can't stop the damage from the bleach, but she can minimize it.

whe using the boxed stuff you have to be careful which one you use. I recommend herbel essence color instincts bc it works best for me but if you want to go lighter, you should have a professional do it.

I'm a hair stylist and I would advise going to a salon. I've seen too many people come in with screwed up hair from DIY kits. It's always better to pay a little more to have it done correctly the first time instead of having it turn out badly and having to pay double in a salon to get it fixed.
